Marlan Coughtry (James Marion Coughtry) was born on September 11, 1934 in Hollywood, California. He made his Major League debut on September 2, 1960 for the Boston Red Sox. Coughtry played for the Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 2 year career.
