Born on January 23, 1970 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Mark Wohlers (Mark Edward Wohlers) played for the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 12 year career. Wohlers broke into the bigs on August 17, 1991 with the Atlanta Braves, and put up a 4.59 ERA in 51 innings pitched in 1994, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Mark Wohlers's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1996, when he posted a 3.03 ERA, notched 39 saves and struck out 100 batters. However, others believe that it was 1995, when he posted a 2.09 ERA, notched 25 saves and struck out 90 batters.
