Born on October 19, 1960 in Livermore, California, Mark Davis (Mark William Davis) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Kansas City Royals, Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers over the course of his 15 year career. Davis broke into the bigs on September 12, 1980 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.49 ERA in 111 innings pitched in 1983, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mark Davis's best season was 1989, when he posted a 1.85 ERA, notched 44 saves and struck out 92 batters.
