Born on April 13, 1963 in Joliet, Illinois, Mark Leiter (Mark Edward Leiter) played for the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, California Angels, San Francisco Giants, Montreal Expos, Philadelphia Phillies, Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers over the course of his 11 year career. Leiter broke into the bigs on July 24, 1990 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 4.21 ERA in 134.2 innings pitched in 1991, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mark Leiter's best season was 1998, when he posted a 3.55 ERA, notched 23 saves and struck out 84 batters.
