Born on October 24, 1963 in Aurora, Illinois, Mark Grant (Mark Andrew Grant) played for the San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves, Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies over the course of his 8 year career. Grant broke into the bigs on April 27, 1984 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 6.37 ERA in 53.2 innings pitched in 1984, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mark Grant's best season was 1989, when he posted a 3.33 ERA and struck out 69 batters.
