Mark Cotney (John Mark Cotney) was born on June 26, 1952 in Altus, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Altus (OK), Cotney attended Cameron University and New Mexico Highlands University. Cotney made his professional debut in the NFL in 1975 with the Houston Oilers. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Oilers over the course of his 9 year career.
Most people believe that 1984 was Mark Cotney's best year, as he picked off 5 passes.
