Mario Diaz (Mario Rafael (Torres) Diaz) was born on January 10, 1962 in Humacao, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on September 12, 1987 for the Seattle Mariners. In 1991, his rookie year, he hit .264 with 1 home run and 22 RBI. Diaz played for the Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, Texas Rangers and Florida Marlins over the course of his 9 year career.
