Born on September 23, 1920 in Luccia, Italy, Marino Pieretti (Marino Paul Pieretti) played for the Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 6 year career. Pieretti broke into the bigs on April 19, 1945 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 3.32 ERA in 233.1 innings pitched in 1945, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Marino Pieretti's best season was 1945, when he posted a 3.32 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 66 batters.
