Born on December 20, 1971 in Dayton, Ohio, Marc Valdes (Marc Christopher Valdes) played for the Florida Marlins, Montreal Expos, Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 6 year career. Valdes broke into the bigs on August 28, 1995 with the Florida Marlins, and put up a 3.13 ERA in 95 innings pitched in 1997, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Marc Valdes's best season was 1997, when he posted a 3.13 ERA and struck out 54 batters.
