Manson might ease running back troubles for the Gators

I don’t expect anyone to recognize Markus Manson, but he might be Florida’s answer to taking the load off Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin.
This year, two of Florida’s top 3 rushers aren’t running backs. Not that we didn’t expect the famed “Tebow Smash” to go away completely when he took the starting job, but this borders on pathetic. So far this year, Kestahn Moore has earned time in Urban Meyer’s doghouse for having poor awareness and seemingly greased hands. That said, Brandon James saw time at RB the past few weeks, but his inability to hit the hole has prevented him from being the premier back.
Markus Manson, part of last years three man rotation of now NFL-er Deshawn Wynn and Moore moved to CB over the summer to alleviate our defensive secondary problems. But with Moore and James being as inconsistent as they are, the Gators announced that Manson would be moving back to RB.
With backups Mon Williams and Chris Rainey out and a bevy of WR’s who can run the ball consistently, Florida resorted to Tebow for the up the gut rushing attack. However his sore right shoulder limited his running in the past, and could be a lingering problem. Manson, a 5′11″, 200 lb junior may provide the rushing attack necessary to take the load off of Tebow’s shoulders (literally), and make the spread option offense even more dangerous.
