Manny Sanguillen (Manuel de Jesus (Magan) Sanguillen) was born on March 21, 1944 in Colon, Panama. He made his Major League debut on July 23, 1967 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1969, his rookie year, he hit .303 with 5 home runs and 57 RBI. Sanguillen played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 13 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Manny Sanguillen's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1973, when he hit for a .282 average and knocked in 65 runs. However, others believe that it was 1971, when he hit for a .319 average and knocked in 81 runs.
