Born on March 13, 1879 in Brookville, Pennsylvania, Mal Eason (Malcolm Wayne Eason) played for the Chicago Orphans, Chicago Cubs, Boston Beaneaters, Detroit Tigers and Brooklyn Superbas over the course of his 6 year career. Eason broke into the bigs on October 1, 1900 with the Chicago Orphans, and put up a 3.59 ERA in 220.2 innings pitched in 1901, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mal Eason's best season was 1902, when he posted a 2.61 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 54 batters.
