Madden 08 "Play Now" Game

I got Madden yesterday, and have discovered that the defenses are alot better this year. I played a 5 minutes per quarter "Play Now" game on Pro. I picked random teams, and ended up having to use the Baltimore Ravens, who I can't stand, against the Oakland Raiders, I was excited about that. I really struggled, only putting up 17 points in the first half, that sounds good, but it's not on Pro. Here is how the game played out.
First Half
Both defenses did really well, either that, or I sucked. Here is a useful tip for you guys, never try to rush with Willis McGahee on this game, he did horrible for me in the first half. He ran 16 times, and only gained 27 yards on the groud for an average of 1.6 yards per carry. I have decided that I am going to throw more in the second half, McNair ony attempted six passes, and completed five of them for 61 yards, and a TD, he got sacked twice by Derrick Burgess both times. Culpepper went 6 for 13, for 83 passing yards, and 0 TD's and 2 INT's. He was sacked once, by Chris McAlister. On 8 Att, RB LaMont Jordan ran for 22 yards, while Culpepper had 3 Att for 17 yards, and a fumble (recovered by Oak).
On defense I stopped the Raiders on third down all five times, and my offense went just 2 for 7 on third down, probably because I ran McGahee too many times for not enough yards. Both teams did well in the red zone, I was in the red zone 2, and I got a FG, and a TD out of it, while the Raiders got there once, and scored a TD.
Daunte Culpepper tryed to put together a late-half drive, but it failed after he was hit by DE Trevor Pryce on a third and 8, which forced an Oakland punt, which Shane Lechler kicked out of the Baltimore end zone for a touchback. After the punt Baltimore advanced to the 43, and on third and inches, I couldn't convert (incomplete pass). I decided to go for it on fourth and inches (giving it to Willis McGahee), I couldn't believe I DIDN'T GET IT, I was tackled by Michael Huff, after I went putside after getting nowhere inside, I was pissed. McGahee sucks on this game, don't use him. I looked at the replay and I was deffently across the first down marker, but the booth didn't review it. After a short drive of five plays, with a couple of costly penalties, Oakland's RB Lamont Jordan ran it in from 7 yards out, and Sebastian Janikowski made the extra point to make it a 17-7 game. I decided to just run a couple if running plays with McGahee, and end the half, I get the ball at the start of the second helf anyways.
Second Half
The second half started off with a Janikowski KO out of bounds, I got the ball to start the half at the 40-yd line. McNair when 4 for 5 on that drive, and ended up throwing a 12-yd TD pass to Derrick Mason, to make it a 24-7 game. I dominated the second half on offense after I decided to throw the ball more, I only ran 4 times with McGahee in the second half for 10 yards. My defense got two more INT's, Reed got his second of the game, while Chris McAlister got his first. The final score was 31-10.

- The defense is really good on this game, and I really like that, now no more absolute slaughterings, if this was Madden 07, it would be a whole different story, it would probably be something more like 61-10. I think Madden 08 is a really good game, and if you don't have it yet, then you should probably go and buy it, that is if there is any left.
