Macha gets the boot

Manager Ken Macha was fired by the Oakland A's today, allegedly because of a disconnect between himself and the organization. Athletics GM Billy Beane said that there were many reasons why the relationship wasn't working; several Oakland players had complained about Macha, specifically citing the fact that he wouldn't even say hello to some of them.
"Not to fault either side, but I felt a disconnect on a lot of levels," Beane said. "Once again, it's not to point the finger at Ken or anything like that. But that disconnect was there and it was something we needed to address as soon as possible."
While Macha has left the A's in the past and then returned, Beane said that that was unlikely to happen again.
