Mac Scarce

Born on April 8, 1949 in Danville, Virginia, Mac Scarce (Guerrand McCurdy Scarce) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 5 year career. Scarce broke into the bigs on July 10, 1972 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 2.42 ERA in 70.2 innings pitched in 1973, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Mac Scarce's best season was 1973, when he posted a 2.42 ERA, notched 12 saves and struck out 57 batters.
