MLS Cup
MLS Cup is the final game of the Major League Soccer postseason, officially recognized as the championship of the league. The trophy was originally called the Alan I. Rothenberg Trophy, named after the founding chairman of MLS. In 2008 the league unvieled a redesigned trophy called the Philip F. Anschutz Trophy. The award for the regular season championship is called the Supporters' Shield, after the various clubs' supporters. In February 2006, MLS decided the MLS Supporters Shield and the MLS Cup winner will represent the United States in the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. Starting in 2008 the MLS Cup winner and the Supporters' Shield winner gain entry in the CONCACAF Champions League.
