can someone tell me the exact time of MLB trading deadline.

Is July31 midnight eastern time.

local time ?

what about 1979 what was the trading deadline?

12:00am Midnight local time doesn't make sense. That would allow LA,SF,SD, Seattle to continue trading while the dealine had passed in eascoast cities .

Please settle an argument in our fantasy league.

Huh? Dude, it ends 12:00 midnight eastern, and 9:00 in the cities you mentioned. They go by only one midnight.

The baseball trade deadline is 4 pm ET on July 31 for all non waiver deals. For a player to be moved after that, he must clear waivers and that deadline is August 31. This means anyone tied to a ballclub is still there down the stretch with expanded rosters.

yes Trachsel cleared waivers, allowing him to be dealt for Rocky Cherry and Scott Moore, a pair of minor leaguers. Similar deal was the one that sent Craig Monroe from Detroit to the Cubs last week, among others. If a team tries to have a player clear waivers and someone claims him, the team can rescind the waivers, try and work a trade, or give the player up with no compensation.
