MLB changes Demonboy would make

I would like to take this time and expand a little on DRE-LO's article. After reading it and giving it some thoughts, not only I would make it a 16 team playoff but I would also change 2 of the divisions.

In the AL, there are currently 14 teams (5 east, 5 central & 4 west) while the NL has 16 teams (5 east, 6 central & 5 west). When the MLB was looking for buyers for the Expos, Portland & Las Vegas were both in the hunt them. There's also Dalls that is a big sports town. I say, balance out both the NL & AL to 16 teams a piece.

Give either Portland or Las Vegas (whichever is the higher bidder) a team and put them in the AL West. Also, why not put a baseball team in Dallas and put them in the AL Central??

I would also move the Marlins out of Miami - even when they were winners, no one really cared about them. The year they won the World Series (03') they averaged less fans in the stands than the Detroit Tigers. Move them to maybe Jacksonville, Orlando, Savannah anywhere in the east that would actually care about that team.

Interleague play is also played out. In the past, the great thing about the All Star game was to see matchups that you normally would not see. The All Star game was a big deal - but it's not much anymore. Right now with interleague games, you might see a matchup of like Curt Schilling or Mariano Rivera vs Albert Pujols so if you see it during the All Star game it's nothing special. Bring the All Star game back to what it was - while you're at it, get rid of whichever side wins it, they get home field advantage. Home field advatage should go to the better team reguardless.

Steriod use - There would no second chance with me. Your caught, your gone plain and simple. Back in the day and even today, yes there was a lot of alot of alcohol consumption ( Cobb, Ruth) etc but at least thier records were legit. There is no debate if they did those records while on performance enhancing drugs. Today there is. Again, bring things back to where they were - caught with enhancing drugs - say goodbye to your baseball career.

But, that's just me and who am I? I'm no one... it's just my opinion.

Dallas has a team: The Texas Rangers. Arlington is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The new Dallas Cowboys stadium is being built in Arlington by the Ranger's stadium.

It's a thought, but with the Cowboys, Mavs and Stars already there, there's a lot of money going into sports already. The Rangers are already the fourth team in town, I don't think another baseball club would make it.

There is a lot of money into sports yes - but look at LA - Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, Angels, Ducks & Kings and they want a football team there too... also Chicago - Sox, Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawks & Bears. Let's not get into NY.

Dallas really isn't that into baseball. Texas isn't really that into baseball. I could see Dallas having two Pro Football teams, but not baseball.

LA is the second-biggest media Market in the United States. They can afford another 2, 3, 4, even 5 teams. Dallas isn't that big on baseball, so why put another team there? The Rangers have never done anything for them, they don't need another team to being them down.

You will notice that the cities with two teams in any sport are NYC, LA and chicago...i don't beleive there are any others...and the Os play in baltimore while the nats play in washington...the cities are close, but not that close...not to mention peter angelos (Os owner) was pissed when they moved the nats there and i don't blame him...except he's a dick

What hasn't been mentioned is that Chicago's "Other team," you know, the defending world champs, aren't well liked in Chicago. I was in the Windy City in January and everything was still all Cubs

Apparently, MLB is likely to go through a contraction stage, rather than an expansion. However, I am in favour of equal Leagues. Also, make the season shorter... maybe add a two week break around the All-Star Game as a summer holiday.

Absolutely, you should balance the AL and the NL out. And the Marlins should move to Miami, it's a huge media market and they'll get much more support. Just ask the Heat.

The Marlins already play in Miami. Pro Player Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins and Florida Marlins.
