Less than 24 hrs after the Sox complete the sweep of the Colorado Rockies for the 2007 World Series championship, the first big-name player was dealt. Edgar Renteria, this year's Shortstop for the Atlanta Braves, was traded to the Detroit Tigers for two prospects. This is a big addition to the Tigers shaky infield, and he should make an immediate impact on the field, and possibly in the locker room in the Tigers quest for the 2008 World Series. Renteria is filling the whole the Tigers had a SS, which was left wide open when Detroit decided to move Carlos Guillen to First Base.
As you all are well aware of by now, Alex Rodriguez is now a Free Agent, after opting out of his multi-million dollar contract last night during the WS game 4. A-Rod just could not bare to see his arch-rival Red Sox get the Monday morning headlines, so he decided to opt out during the worst possible time. And, of course, Joe Buck just had to start a whole lnog conversation about it lasy night, it would've been okay if it wasn't, let's see, THE WORLD SERIES!!! And, that is all I have to say about the A-Rod topic. Personally, I would rather stick razor-sharp knives in my ears than to listen to more of his shit.
Well, anyway, the first big trade was made today, and get ready for more big names to be dealt out, including "you know who", and Barry "Balco" Bonds. So, stay tuned for more.
