MLB's Future

Thursday, I was reading my Sports Illustrated magazine, like I normally do on Thursdays, and I saw an article about LA's catcher, Russell Martin, and about how he is one of the best all-around baseball players in the game.  The writer also went on to talk about how he is such a gentleman, and he is MLB's future.  I agree with them, Martin is an awesome ballplayer, and a great leader.  He plays the game like you should, not for the money, but for the love of the game.  I certainly think that he is major league baseball's premier player, and if every player in baseball was like him, then there would be alot more MLB fans.  I hope that he ends up being the NL all-star starting catcher, because he definitely deserves it.

Russell Martin grew up with his parent's divorced, so it was really hard for him to go back and forth from his mom's to dad's house, but I think that helped him to become a better person.

Russell Martin is very young, and he has alot of years ahead of him, and I think, and hope that he will end up being a Pudge, or Piazza type catcher.  And I wish this young kid good luck, and hopes he has a great career.

followed by crack rock smoking hour, apparently... I swear, EVERY Dodgers fan I've ever met was a crackhead. (obviously, I've met too many Dodgers fans!)

I am not even a fucking dodgers fan, I just enjoy watching this guy play baseball. Is there a problem with that?

You watch Dodger games only to witness the rebirth of the next Pudge? Wow.

So what exactly gets you all hot and excited about Martin as a catcher?

I like that he can do all three hit, field, and run well. And he has a strong arm. He is also the role model type, I dont see him being like Barry Bonds and getting all juiced up, not that he would, because he is a catcher. He doesn't argue calls either, he understands how to play the game. Now what don't you like about him?

So, you would only think he is good if he played for your favorite team.

I would not waste my time drooling over another team's player.

You're missing the point. Russell's mom lived in America and his dad lived in China so he had to tunnel back and forth through the earth. That's character building, baby.

Jim Palmer was adopted. I don't know at what age, but he got the short end of the stick when he was younger and turned out OK.

I think I just got a clue it's time for me to go to bed. I saw a Jim and "short end of the stick" and got all defensive because my brain started thinking Jim Abbott and that you'd make a really crude (but kinda funny) pun.
