Born on March 27, 1950 in Monroe, Louisiana, Lynn McGlothen (Lynn Everett McGlothen) played for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees over the course of his 11 year career. McGlothen broke into the bigs on June 25, 1972 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.41 ERA in 145 innings pitched in 1972, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Lynn McGlothen's best season was 1974, when he posted a 2.69 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 142 batters.
