Born on July 29, 1902 in Ooletewah, Tennessee, Luther Roy (Luther Franklin Roy) played for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies and Brooklyn Robins over the course of his 4 year career. Roy broke into the bigs on June 12, 1924 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 8.29 ERA in 92.1 innings pitched in 1929, his rookie year.
