Luis Olmo (Luis Francisco Olmo) was born on August 11, 1919 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on July 23, 1943 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1943, his rookie year, he hit .303 with 4 home runs and 37 RBI. Olmo played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Boston Braves over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Luis Olmo's best season was 1945, when he hit for a .313 average and knocked in 110 runs.
