Lowell Tew (Lowell William Tew) was born on January 2, 1927 in Waynesboro, Mississippi. After going to high school at Waynesboro (MS), Tew attended the University of Alabama. Tew made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1948 with the New York Yankees. He played for the New York Yankees for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1948 was Lowell Tew's best year, as he ran in 5 TDs.
