Born on June 15, 1891 in Elgin, Illinois, Lou North (Louis Alexander North) played for the Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Braves over the course of his 7 year career. North broke into the bigs on August 22, 1913 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 3.27 ERA in 88 innings pitched in 1920, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Lou North's best season was 1922, when he posted a 4.45 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 84 batters.
