Lou Brissie

Born on June 5, 1924 in Anderson, South Carolina, Lou Brissie (Leland Victor Brissie) played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 7 year career. Brissie broke into the bigs on September 28, 1947 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 4.13 ERA in 194 innings pitched in 1948, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Lou Brissie's best season was 1948, when he posted a 4.13 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 127 batters.
