Lou Barle (Louis Peter Barle) was born on June 23, 1916 in Gilbert, Minnesota. After going to high school at Gilbert (MN), Barle attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Barle made his professional debut in the NFL in 1938 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Cleveland Rams and Detroit Lions over the course of his 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1939 was Lou Barle's best year.
