The scoring started early with the Angels loading the bases in the 1st. With no outs, Garret Anderson grounded into a double play, but Gary Matthews Jr. was able to score to make it 1-0 Angels. The Indians threatened to tie it up in the 2nd with runners on the corners, but Andy Marte grounded out. In the 3rd, The Indians loaded the bases, but Saunders got out of the jam by inducing a double play off the bat of Ryan Garko. While the Indians were frustrated, the Angels did little better having runners in scoring position in the 4th and 5th, but were unable to bring anyone home until the 6th when Mike Napoli hit the first triple of his career driving in Casey Kotchman. He would score on a wild pitch by Westbrook. The Indians got on the board in the 7th with a leadoff home run from Jhonny Peralta, but that is all they would get.
On the night for the Angels, Matthews went 2-5 with 2 runs, Cabrera went 2-5 with an RBI, Guerrero went 2-4 with a walk and 2Ks. For Cleveland, Only Sizemore (1-4), Garko (1-4, and Peralta (2-4) were able to notch a hit against the Angels' pitching.
Up next, these two finish the series Wednesday morning in Milwaukee with Dustin Moseley facing Jeremy Sowers.
