A day after attaining 1st place, the Angels fell to the Devil Rays 6-3. In the second of the three game series, the Angels jumped out to a 2 run lead in the 6th as Vladimir Guerrero drove in his 78th RBI of the season and Juan Rivera picked up his 46th. Tampa Bay rookie James Shields (ND) was able to prevent any further bleeding which allowed the team to get the runs back in the bottom of the 6th when Ty Wigginton lauched his 17th home rune of the year (a 2 run shot). After getting out of the inning, things looked good for Ervin Santana (L, 11-4), but he fell apart in the 7th allowing 4 runs. The Angels got one back in the 9th, and even though they out hit the Rays 13-11, they could not drive in any more runs.
