Angels Win 10-3.
| Los Angeles Angels Schedule/Results |
Jered Weaver continued to prove he belongs in the big leagues with a solid 6 and a third innings in a 10-3 win over the Indians. Backed by an Angel offense that has been MIA for most of the year, the rookie had no trouble improving his record to 2-0. Weaver gave up 2 runs in the 7th, but innings 1-6 were his, with his team spotting him 2 runs in the top of the inning, Weaver strode to the mound and struck out 3 of the first five batters he faced. On the night, he struck out 8 giving up 4 hits and two walks.
Jason Johnson on the other hand, struggled from the outset. He could not seem to find the strike zone in the first two innings, walking 4, but in the third he started to settle down, at one point retiring 7 in a row. Guillermo Mota, was not much better, giving up 5 runs in one and a third innings. While Johnson' problem was his walks, Mota has trouble keeping the ball in the park, giving up home runs to Dallas McPherson and Garret Anderson. Along with troubles on the mound, behind the Indian behind the plate had difficulties throwing as well. Tim Laker, who was giving Victor Martinez a break before a day game on Saturday, allowed 6 stolen bases.

This knocks Weaver out of the game, but his replacement, Kevin Gregg, gives up a single to Belliard that brings in Broussard, but that would be all the Indians get. Angels lead 9-2.
