Loren Babe (Loren Rolland Babe) was born on January 11, 1928 in Pisgah, Iowa. He made his Major League debut on August 19, 1952 for the New York Yankees. In 1953, his rookie year, he hit .230 with 2 home runs and 26 RBI. Babe played for the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 2 year career.
