Yankees begin Roster purging
The Yankees made two roster moves today, likely a sign they have thrown in the towel on this years playoff hopes, (what took so long).
After a brief experiment lasting 28 at bats, which included one homer and six RBI's, Richie Sexson was given his outright release.
Borrowing a line from Larry the Cable Guy from the movie, "Cars", the next move has made me "happier than a tornado in a trailer park", as the Yanks have finally sent Melky Cabrera to Triple A Scranton-Wilkes Barre. Cabrera defines awful as a baseball player, especially for a contending team like the Yankees. Looking at the primary centerfielders around baseball, I can't see more than a handful of teams where Cabrera would be the unquestioned starter, I actually see more teams he couldn't make at all.
Replacing Sexson and Cabrera are outfielder Brett Gardner, who is in today's lineup, leading off in center, and infielder Cody Ransom.
Hey, Melk, don't let the clubhouse door hit you in the ass on the way out, homey.
