Haha, I don't think they should waste their time and money with Schilling, he's way past his prime, and it will end up being the same situation that "The Rocket", and NY is currently in (it doesn't look like the Yanks will ever get rid of Roger, he just won't go away).

I wouldn't be surprised at all. I think he can still compete at a high level in the National League.

The DBacks can have him! I'm done with him, and his giant ego.

I think Curt Schilling should end on a postive note right now. I mean, think about it: if the Red Sox win the World Series, what else would he have to want to earn? He's already got 3,000 strikeouts, 2 World Series rings, and considered one of the best postseason pitchers in baseball. The only thing he'd do it for is the money, and he's losing his arm; you can sense it (he is 41-42 years old).

Damn, that sucks. I thought nobody in Boston was supposed to be watching the BC game? Well, I guess I really need to stop watching ESPN, they said that everyone was going to be watching the Sox game, and that no one would even know that BC was playing. But, that's kind of hard to do when they are #2 in the nation. STUPID ESPN!!!

well, down in VA the CFB is a much bigger deal.

Oh, I was thinking you were in Boston. And, actually I am watching the CFB game, and every once in a while i'll switch over to the WS game, but im a much bigger football fan than Baseball, the NFL is the best league. It's, by far, the most exciting, in my opinion.

all of those new-fangled two-tone helmets are awful.

Cool-Flo helmets. Many teams (including the Rays - I didn't get to try one onm because my head is too big) have been using them since begining of last year. They're lighter, air flows through them better and you can hear in them better. Even if they are ugly.

I actually think the Cool-flo helmets are better looking then the old boring helmets.

You would have dressed in tab collars and bell bottoms in the 70's too... They look stupid in two tones. They are more palatable in one color (like the Rays all-black this year)

Well, I never said I liked the multi-colored helmets, I just think the design on them looks better than the old helmets.

He should have won the ALCS MVP! No knock on Beckett.

Ramirez also deserved a serious look. But, when the entire Red Sox lineup produces like it does at the end of the ALCS, there's no way you can gie it to a hitter. Beckett deserved it because he was the only starting pitcher that pitched well in both of his starts.

I gotta disagree with you Pip. Youkilis was awesome in the ALCS, but you gotta give it to Beckett because HE's the one who won game 5 (elimination) when they needed him to, with an ERA in the 1.20s. THAT IS SICK! Gotta go with Beckett man!

I am still on here, but I am watching the BC/VT game instead, its a great game, and BC is down 10-0 as of right now.

Manny, I am sick of the batting helmet flip. Cut it the hell out.

Yeah, I'm still concerned. Dice, if only because all his breaking stuff won't break nearly as much in the thin Denver air, and Lester, if only because I haven't seen enough of him to be comfortable yet.

Good call on Dice's breaking stuff Salty, exactly right. Plus Lester is a lefty, Atkins, Holliday, Tulowitzki. If he doesn't have his A game he may not even have to take a shower.

Well, Oki mowed them down pretty well tonight, so we'll see. I think that games 3 and 4 will not be 2-1 pitcher's duels like tonight's game was.

I'm concerned about every game, and every time they win, I get a little more relieved. I'm still nervous though, and I always will be until (if) the Red Sox win the WS.

The difference between Oki and Lester is Oki can break a pane of glass.
