Why I Love the Bruins and Hate the Canadiens

I'm actually working UML-BC, which for some reason is on NESN instead of UVM-NU

Lowell was supposed to be respectable this year (they were ranked or close to it in the preseason) and BC was (I believe) top 5...they've just been shaken and/or inconsistent all year Hope one of us takes out BU in the beanpot (actually, I hope its Harvard...and then one of us)

He got a 2 minute minor. And why would he hit the other goalie when Kostitsyn was the one who boarded Ward?

My point is he doesn't belong hitting anybody.

My point is he does, because his teammate got slammed into the boards by a cheap-shot. Kostitsyn deserved to get knocked on his ass, and also deserved the 5 minute major for boarding he got on the play. What does it matter if it was Thomas or someone else who knocked him down?

You'd probably appreciate what Thomas did if the clip included what Kostitsyn did to Ward. It wasn't the worst cheap-shot I've seen, but Andrei deserved a smack.

Don't get me wrong, I respect the fact that Andrei Kostitsyn got smacked for the boarding. It's not that Andrei didn't have an ass whuppin' coming. It's that it should have been someone other than Thomas. Remember, Thomas can get away with things other players can't because there probably won't be any retaliation against a goalie.

I'm with Cheez on this one. Rawb, you've got a point, but the fact that the Refs will defend Thomas makes it a little weak.

In the old days, your designated enforcer would have delivered the repercussions for a cheap shot... Where was Shawn Thornton? Or Zdeno Chara at the very least? To me, it resonates a lot more when a skater retaliates than a goalie, because the skater isn't hiding behind the refs and/or a ton of pads.

Thornton was on the bench, if you watch the video closely you can see Chara trying to catch up to Kostitsyn, but Thomas hits him first. And Thomas didn't exactly go out of his way to get to him. Kostitsyn came to Thomas.

Jut & Cheezer, if Thomas did this stuff a lot, I'd say you were right that he's hiding behind his pads and the refs. But he doesn't do it a lot. Kostitsyn was going to get knocked down, Thomas was just the first one to do it.

Counterpoint to you 2 guys: Put yourself in Thomas' shoes (skates). You see your teammate get boarded from behind. Do you:

A) Calmly and logically think to yourself: "I'm not going to touch this guy, because I have pads on and it'd be unfair."

B) Hit him in the face
