This waste of time about bashing hockey made it?. Why is it on the front page? It had only 3 votes, had 153 comments, but practically all of them were based on Roc and his poor article.

Comments have to count for something. It was a popular article! Love it or hate it drew reads and comments. I did not read it until it was promoted.

The formula is something like votes + different commenters. Or a function of each of them. I don't know it precisely. But I remember it is definitely different commenters, as opposed to total number of comments.

Each unique logged-in commentor (not comment!) is worth .25 points. It needed 6*4=24 commentors... and got it.

Suggestion - To prevent garbage from reaching the front page (as this clearly was an example of "hobby" writing :), just put a link from the comment section over to the Locker Room to bitch about it!
