Who Would You Put on the NBA Coaches Hot Seat?

Posted by SSreporters

What's up folks? It's March 28th and I'm greeted by snow!!! Awesome way to start Spring Break if ya ask me.

It's that time of the year when we ask which coaches have flames under their ass.....who is on the hot seat as far as the NBA goes? And state your reasons BTW.

Note those exempt from list:

Isiah Thomas

Zeke

The guy James Dolan hired

SSR's Hot Seat

Avery Johnson - Dallas Mavericks. I like Avery, he's a good coach, but he, like the Mavericks, underachieves. Now if they miss the playoffs that will also help my case.

Pat Riley - Miami Heat. They may not even win 15 games....Riley has lost his touch, and that has the making of a drama down in Miami.

George Karl - Denver Nuggets. You can't have A.I, Carmelo Anthony, and J.R Smith and win 0 playoff series and they may not even make it this season.

PJ Carlesimo - Seattle Sonics....just because.

My list is over, your turn.

Management is crap, coaching is crap, players are young, fans are disappearing.....it sucks to be a Sonics fan. But we've got snow!! So this'll eliminate any form of news tonight.

Would you show up to a game, full of young and basically unknown players, on a team that is trying to get on the first thing smoking out of town?

Seriously though, I'm going to say that Riley is going to keep his job. Why? Well, for one, he was a good coach. He did coach the same franchise to a championship two years ago, didn't he? He's focusing more on scouts because the Heat aren't doing good, and he wants to find ways to improve. Tyrone said something about it here.

He's going to have to do a TON in free agency then.

His shortcomings in free agency is why the Heat are in such a bad position right now.

Romi, when the Heat were good, they had Zo, Shaq, Antoine Walker...but they are gone and are OLD!

Wade has no one (not even Marion) that he can play great basketball with. He's stranded and Riley isn't doing anything, and even if he gets Beasley or whatever, that's still only one player.

I still don't know why they got rid of Jason Kapono.

It may be a joke for now, I think some of these guys are just abandoning ship to avoid having to finish this humiliating season.

I agree that he should look at free agency, but I think he wants the Heat to start something... you know, build a team up with a lot of good, young talent. However, he should look at the Free Agency list as well and come up with some ideas as well... definitely.

I agree with you, Stiles. He's definitely done better than a lot of other coaches. With the (lack of) talent the Grizzlies have (especially without Gasol), the Grizzlies should be around where the Heat are. However, Iavaroni has been able to get around 5 more wins than the Heat so far.

That's definitely a possibility. The playoffs represent how well coaches coach. Take a look at Phil Jackson and how great of a coach he is. How many rings does he have? That just proves a point. Doc Rivers is going to coach a team to 60+ wins this season, granted. However, the best teams are going to be facing the Celtics in top form. So, JuT, if Doc Rivers is fired if they don't win it all, I'll say that he'll be fired too...

he won't be fired if they don't win it all. But if they slip up, he's out. In the first round, it seems fairly unlikely, but in the second round they could draw the cavs or sixers or Magic...and all of those teams have a decent shot at beat thing...but they shouldn't If it happens, it'll be doc's fault...

As much as I love Avery Johnson, I think he has to take some blame for what has happened in Dallas. Mix that with the fact that he, Kidd, Dirk and Cuban are all on different pages and clashing, and you have a team that needs some new directions.

I honestly don't know, Yakob. :P I am being pessimistic about the Celtics. I somewhat believe in the Celtics' players, but they don't call all the shots; the coach does. It all depends on what Doc Rivers does. KG, Pierce, and Allen are depended on way too much, and it's one of their last chances for all of them to win it all. They're determined, and that will probably be one of the factors for them to win IF THEY DO...

You're on crack.

Suns vs. Spurs: Part 3!!! Revenge will be bloodier!!!

I'm pretty antsy about these potential matchups as well:

Magic - Celtics = Celtics lose.

Cavs - Pistons = rematch part 3

Hornets - Mavs = CP3 vs JKidd

Rockets - Lakers = The only team that should fear the Rockets...

The matchup that won't happen but should:

Suns vs. Lakers - just like the last two times. Kobe gets owned.

How about Randy Wittman? He won't get fire because he's to busy kissing Kevin McHale's ass, but seriously. This guy took a team that was right around .500, and while their hopes were slim, if they made the playoffs, the top seed would have to work their butts off to make sure the wolves went home; and turned them into a team that doesn't even deserve a lottery pick. Seriously, they should have to forfeit all draft picks until management and coaches are changed
