What book are you reading, sports related or otherwise?

What are you reading? Magazines do not count. (Sorry no Playboy, Frank) Would you recommend it?

I'm reading The Templars. I just started it so I'll let you know if I'd recommend it when I'm done.

Funny you ask. I just started reading "The Diary of a Red Sox Season (2007)". Go figure. I know, I'm a little late reading it now, but I hope to finish it before Opening Day of 2008. It's pretty good so far...

It's a good story but he's not a very good story teller. It hasn't grabbed me yet and forced me to read it. Know what I mean? Amazon link here

If you're reading the templars, you might as well read Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code... of course, they'll take you about a day to read each (Dan Brown writes for a 5 year old's attention span)

I totally agree. My AP English teacher (in addition to being a huge pervert) loved that book. We spent half the class on it and had to write about it about 4 different times until she was satisfied.

"People of the Abyss" - Jack London. It's part of Jack London's "Library of America" book. He has two of them. One with all of his wilderness books and one with all of his social writings. The one I'm reading now is his social writings.

I've been too busy writing a book. Well, more editing than anything. Maybe I'll post an excerpt soon?! Since I'm moving soon my books are already packed up and my local library is under re-construction, so I'm kinda book-naked right now (which is extremely weird)! I always have a copy of the Tao de Ching in the bathrrom... (It's where I can meditate the clearest!!)

The Education of a Coach, by David Halberstam. It's Halberstam's biography of Bill Belichick. It's fantastic. Makes Belichick seem much less of a douchebag...just someone so completely and totally immersed in football, and not wanting all of the popularity and other assorted bullshit that comes with it. The thing that makes it kind of ironic/weird/kinda cool, Halberstam died recently. There are still so many writers trying to get inside BB's head, and talk to the people that know him. They don't realize Halberstam's already done that, and done it better than anyone else ever could. If I ever become famous and get to know some of these fellow journalists, I will make it my mission that another "Who is Bill Belichick?" will never, ever be written. Halberstam took BB's story with him to his grave, in a sense.
