Vote here for the NFL's all-time Best QB

Posted by Behbigben15

I am curious to see who all you AGMers think is the best NFL QB of all-time, so I decided to have a 32-player tournament, where you guys are the ones voting (kind of like the User awards by Coreyisarealboy, and the AGM 2007 awards by Alex H).

So, I will give you a few (3-4) of the best QB's for each team/franchise, and you guys can send me votes (through private message), for who you think is the franchises best QB of all-time. I will end the balloting whenever I feel I have enough votes (I will post reminders). Then, after I have the top voter for each franchise, I will construct a 32-player tournament bracket, and let you guys vote on the winner round-by-round until we have a winner.

Pittsburgh- Terry Bradshaw, Neil O'Donnell, Kordell Stewart, Ben Roethlisberger

Baltimore Ravens- Trent Dilfer, Steve McNair, Jim Harbaugh

Cincinnati- Ken Anderson, Boomer Esiason, Carson Palmer

Cleveland- Bernie Kosar, Otto Graham

New England- Tom Brady, Drew Bledsoe, Steve Grogan

Miami- Bob Griese, Dan Marino

Buffalo Bills- Jim Kelly, Doug Flutie

New York Jets- Vinny Testaverde, Joe Namath

Inianapolis/Baltimore Colts- Johnny Unitas, Peyton Manning, Jim Harbaugh, Earl Morrall

Jacksonville Jaguars- Mark Brunell, Byron Leftwich

Houston Texans- David Carr

Tennessee Titans, Houston/Tennessee Oilers- Warren Moon, Steve McNair

Oakland/LA Raiders- Ken Stabler, Rich Gannon, Jim Plunkett, George Blanda

Denver Broncos- John Elway, Jake Plummer

San Diego- Dan Fouts, Ryan Leaf (Haha, just kidding)

Kansas City- Len Dawson, Trent Green, Steve DeBerg,

Detroit Lions- Bobby Layne, Scott Mitchell

Green Bay Packers- Brett Favre, Bart Starr

Chicago Bears/Cardinals- Jim McMahon, Sid Luckman

Minnesota Vikings- Randall Cunningham, Fran Tarkenton, Daunte Culpepper

Dallas Cowboys- Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Danny White

New York (Giants)- Phil Simms, Jeff Hostetler, Y.A. Tittle, Kerry Collins

Philadelphia Eagles- Donovan McNabb, Ron Jaworski, Randall Cunningham

Washington Redskins- Sonny Jurgenson, Joe Theismann, Doug Williams

New Orleans Saints- Archie Manning

Atlanta Falcons- Michael Vick, Chris Chandler

Carolina Panthers- Steve Beuerlein, Jake Dehlomme

Tampa Bay Bucs- Trent Dilfer, Steve Young

Seattle Seahawks- Jim Zorn, Matt Hasselbeck

San Francisco- Joe Montana, Steve Young, John Brodie

LA/St. Louis Rams- Kurt Warner, Norm Van Brocklin, Jim Everett, Roman Gabriel

Arizona/Phoenix- Jake Plummer

This is just a quick list, so I'm sure I have missed MANY great QB's, so if you want, you can nominate a anyone who isn't on here, and I will post all the nomonations whenever.

I don't know how many people will participate, but if you want to, you can start by sending me a message telling me who you think is the BEST QB from each of the 32 franchises is.

I said I just made a Quick list, Johnny Unitas, and Earl Morrall are pretty much the only decent QB's for Baltimore's franchise, I picked the Ravens best QB, and it was Dilfer simply because he won a SB with them (even though it was because of their defense). I said you DIDN'T HAVE TO choose from the list.

One thing: I would advocate splitting it up by franchise and not city... IMO, Unitas belongs next to Peyton Manning as the Colts' best QBs, not next to Trent Dilfer and the Ravens' "best".

Wouldn't Johnny Unitas go under Indianapolis and Bernie Kosar go under Baltimore, if you're going by franchise history?

hard to say. There's really no right answer there. The NFL has made it as confusing as possible as to which franchise came from the Baltimore Colts

actually, they made clear that the current browns have the entire browns' list...i.e. as far as they're concerned, the browns disappeared for a few years are are back and Kosar played for the franchise in cleveland...

Contrarily, the Indy Colts have maintained the Baltimore colts' history...

The ravens are the team, technically, with no history...

Pretty solid list. I would say Big Ben takes over for O'Donnell though.

I think so too after this year. Anyway, I figure that between Behbigben15's original list and my one from 5 months ago, you've pretty much covered everybody in the discussion for each team.

If you're making a 32 player bracket, you can use ->

Template:32TeamBracket

I use it for a heap of snooker stuff and it's easy to use. And you can make the score equal the number of votes recieved per player in a matchup.

I think the Broncos best quarterbacks are John Elway, and either Jake Plummer or Frank Tripucka. Tripucka had his number retired by the Broncos.

Yeah, but the Broncos have only had one great quarterback, so I was just trying to think of a runner-up.

How far back are you going? If there's no limit, then Sammy Baugh is definitely the best Redskins QB ever.

How can Davis21wylie have Aaron Brooks on the Saints all time best QBs? Drew Brees is in his 2nd season in N.O. and already more successful than the emotionless, talentless Brooks. And Tony Banks for the Texans? Please. I am voting for Brett Favre for all time best QB. The NFL record book for Passing is written by him.

Dude, the list was made before this season. Brees had been NO's QB for only 1 season, which couldn't offset 5½ years of Brooks no matter how good the former and how mediocre the latter. And before this season, nobody but Carr, Banks, and Dave Ragone had started for Houston.

For now its Favre... if Tom Brady and Peyton Manning keep it up, I don't see how five/ten years from now that there would be any question that they are the best of all-time...
