when he says magic I think of all those late 2 minute drives that Brady has come to be known for... He is the best ever at the two minute offense (debatable with Elway atleast)... that is the "magic" that I think of...

I'd argue back that the 04 Colts were a 2 dimensional team. Everyone knows the Pats will throw the ball 9 times out of 10. And yet he all ready has 30 TD's (even more if you include rushing TD's)

The Pats would have to play a real defense for that to happen.

as opposed to the fake defense where teams score 7 points...

Part of being a good defense is having an effecient offense...run the ball, control the ball, put up points, force them to throw and play from behind...and when the other team only gets the ball for 20 minutes and is playing from behind, your defense can, typically, play well...

I'm not blaming the Pats for thier schedule, but they haven't faced a top five defense yet this year and will only face two all year. The Steelers and Indy are both in the same boat. N.E. has a great line and it will take a SOLID (apparently it was too much for you guys to figure out what I meant by real)defense to get pressure on Brady.

JuT, the other, and more important part of being a good defense is, BEING A GOOD DEFENSE. You know, stopping the run, not giving up the big play, pressuring the QB, and preventing the other team from doing what you said. Having a good offense helps, but your team can't control the ball if the defense can't get off the field.

Defense wins championships - you can put that in your thesis.

it's kinda hard to play defense when your offense is on the field for no more than 10 plays at a time, and you've played an average amount of plays by halftime. The Chargers D is good, the Cowboys D is good.

It's not their fault they play in a division where they can clinch the title by thanksgiving. It's not their fault the NFC East is still vastly inferior to the AFC. Its not their fault that Cincy couldn't keep control of their players. It's not their fault the Chargers were in a bit of a relapse when they played them. It's not their Fault the Jets are doing worse than the bills. SD has several Pro Bowl Defenders, but was forced to try and overcompensate for the lack of an offense.

the Pats have a top D because on top of good players, they are always playing with the lead, so they can take chances without worrying about the offense having to go out of their way to make it up. SD has good Defenders, yet they aren't a top D this year because their offense has been so bad, they've had to be either too passive or agressive to try and compensate.
