T.O. Finds a New Home...in Buffalo!?!?!

Yes, that's right, Terrell Owens, who was released by the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, has signed a one-year, $6.5 million (all guaranteed money) to play for the Buffalo Bills.

How 'bout that!? Any thoughts, AGM community?

All I can say is that it's huge news. I wonder what the relationship he'll have with Trent Edwards. I don't think he as much of an ego (for lack of a better word) than Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb, or Tony Romo... which will be a big plus. If he gets all the attention, and they do well, I don't see why it's not a problem for them.

Oh well... we'll see what happens, I guess.

(This was definitely unexpected... especially so quickly after the 'Boys cut him)

Now T.O. must know that when the half way point comes in the season and he "accidently" overdoses <cough>again</cough>, he has to remember to call up the mounties to come save his ass...

I cant help but wonder of this signing has anything to do with the overall failure of the Bills in Toronto last year. The Rogers people paid a lot of money for the Bills and to say it fell flat would be an understatement. On the other hand what is T.O. going to do out in Buffalo with no one to pay attention to him, he'll have nothing to do but play football or maybe pull the biggest stunt of his career.

I get the distinct impression that TO settled. I believe that he wanted a long term deal with a Super Bowl contender. The fact that he ended up with a 1 year deal on the mediocre Bills says a lot about the demand for his services.

In another year, he'll be 36. I cannot believe that the demand will be any greater. It's his Swan Song. He needs to make the most of it to improve his reputation.

If you look at Owens' career, it's never the first year that's the problem...in 2004 he was great with the Eagles (77 receptions, 1200 yards, 14 TDs), and in 2006 he was great again (85, 1180, 13). The one-year deal means that Owens will stay motivated and have a very good season. Kind of like how Manny Ramirez was very motivated in the second half of 2008.
