Shaun Alexander's Seattle Tenure Looks to be Snapped

Posted by SSreporters

We've got a little dilemma here do we? With the Seahawks signing T.J. Duckett to an exclusive contract to allow him to live at Pike Place Market...and play football for them, they've solved 3rd and 1.

Seattle is now looking at Julius Jones from Dallas. If they get him, it's almost a certainty Shaun Alexander leaves. I'm not a Jones fan, but any RB that gets signed is better than Alexander....

This is just talks, no deals have been made. But if Jones or any other RB in the market is signed by Seattle, Shaun is certainly out.

I'm not a Shaun Alexander fan by any means, but if Duckett and Jones makes up there backfield in the near future, the Seahawks are done.

Besides, Seattle wins playoff games with a piss poor running game, what has your team done lately with Barber and Jones?

Seattle wins playoff games only if Tony Romo handles the FG snaps.

Attacks Attacks Attacks and cheap shots. First off I was saying that Jones is terrible and I wont be sad to see him leave the Cowboys. The Cowboys lost to Seattle because of a freak fluke with Romo and then last year the defense let them down.

It's certainly not the running game's fault that Dallas has choked in the playoffs the past two years. I will never understand why Marion Barber has lost carries to Julius Jones for so long. It's clear who the better back is.

I disagree with you on that one. Barber had the start and a heavy work load against the Giants in the playoffs last year, and he was dead in the second half. Barber needs someone else to start the games and at least take 10-15 carries a game.

First rule of being an authority figure in life JuT is to have a sense of humor. You may say you already do because you're a Phillies fan, but as a Phillie fan myself I've found that in itself to be the joke. Props for standing up for what you believe and getting rid of that loser.

There are some here who think they are authority figures, even after numerous public and private scoldings to the contrary.

There are others, like yourself, who have a sincere belief in the fact that Armchair in the past few months has taken a turn for the worse and are willing to step up and do something about it. So yes, you are an authority figure here.

Its called respect.

I agree with BPP, or rather I'm down with BPP (yeah, you know me!) Neither Jones or Barber is fit to be a feature back. They both need a tandem system to be productive. But, yes, the Barbarian is the more productive of the two.

@ BigPPup.

Excuses excuses excuses, have you ever tried saying that the Giants and Seahawks were the better team that day?

As for Jones, I don't like the idea of signing him. I would prefer to get Stewart or Mendenhall in the draft.

Stewart could be the best back to come out of this draft, and no I'm not forgetting about McFadden. That would be a really good move for Seattle or any team who takes him.

@ SS

I make no excuses when I say the Cowboys defense didnt show up, thats not an excuse its a fact. The defense sucked, Roy Williams looked like a JV player.

As far as the Seattle game, I tip my hat to them for winning that game, but I blame the Cowboys for blowing what should have been a game that was in hand. That is a mental breakdown.

I think Alexander still has plenty left in the tank, but he definitely needs a change of scenery. Luckily, the Seahawks offense can stay afloat without a dominant running game, but I don't like a Duckett-Jones or Duckett-Morris tandem.

I disagree, there have always been question about how though Alexander is, and I am starting to think you are really seeing his true worth here in the past few seasons

Maybe I just can't accept change, but I feel like once he has time to get healthy he's going to be Shaun Alexander again. I mean, he'll never be a record setting back again, but I think he can still be a top 10-15 feature back in the NFL.
