Pistons @ Celtics Sort of, kinda Live-Blog

I'm not staying for the whole game, but I'm a nice guy so I figured I'd provide a forum for completely off topic conversations! It's a tie ball game 54-54 early in the 3rd. Fire away..

From what I hear, it'll be the last week of June or so. Unfortunately, pitching isn't the problem for the Mets.

I just traded Vladimir Guerrerro for Carlos Beltran in one of my other fantasy leagues. Do you think Beltran will snap out of his funk?

Absolutely. That's a smart trade. He's destroying the ball lately, especially tonight (his lineout in the 9th was a rocket, even though it ended in a double play, and he did homer), and he's definitely less of an injury risk than Guerrero.

That's what I figured. When can we expect the next edition of the AGM fantasy baseball update? I (at the moment) have moved from 10th to 9th place and am looking forward to not being the biggest loser for the next edition.

For those who are reading this for the basketball updates (which I believe is most likely no one) -- the Pistons are ahead 78-69 early in the 4th quarter.

He is heads and shoulders the most talented player in the game, yet he is a classic underachiever. A friend of a relative knows him pretty well and says he is ridiculously shy, for an athlete to reach his full potential he has to be an extrovert. The Beltran who went nuts for Houston a few years ago in the playoffs is the real Beltran, this guy says he could do that anytime he wants.

So are the Yankees. Yet here they are. It's May, so relax. And I'm not sure the Mets are as talented as you think they are. Church (before he got hurt) was playing way over his head, Delgado is what he has been so far this season, and Reyes has yet to show that he can be consistent. I mean, sure Wright and Beltran are underachieving right now (but Beltran underachieves so often that I guess it's not really underachieving anymore), but they're definitely not the team everyone thought they were at the beginning of the season.

If Randolph goes, then Rick Peterson probably goes with him...and I really like Rick Peterson. He's done a great job with John Maine and he's even gotten Oliver Perez to be somewhat consistent.

This team is streaky and if they keep on this win 2, lose 3, win 3, then lose 4, they will be hovering around .500 all season. I know this is May, but I don't see ANY signs of this team catching fire and going on a winning streak. Atlanta seems to have their number again. And this NL East is no picnic. THEY NEED TO GET IT TOGETHER! NOW!

If they do not get it together by at least the end of June or July, then YOU KNOW heads are going to roll. Like it or not, this is a win now team, not a rebuilding one. It's a shame Pedro got hurt and he is missed in the starting rotation, but the Mets could not count on Pedro to stay healthy in the 1st place.

If they don't win, say 8-12 or 7-10 at some point soon, yeah, Willie Randolph will be gone. But I'm not sure they're capable of the long win streak right now.

Maine and Santana are very solid, but you never know what you're getting out of Perez, Pelfrey, or Vargas (or Figeroa, or whoever fills that last spot). I don't know what everyone expects out of Pedro when he comes back (I figure he'll be like a Tom Glavine-type pitcher). And that's not even their worst problem.

Castillo's terrible. Absolutely absymal. And he's signed for 3 more years. I guess if Reyes, Beltran, Wright, and Delgado all catch fire at the same time, and Church stays on his hot streak, then a long winning streak is possible. But that's sure asking a lot.
