Nnouncing a New Series: The Sunday File
So, this is something I thought of last night, seeing as I had nothing better to do than to be on my laptop waiting for someone to write something interesting that wasn't the live blog of the Sox-Indians games. I was out of ideas, and was lazy.
There's been a problem recently about the quality of weekend articles. Most of them are either blog whore articles, or live blogs. I love Live Blogs, but if you don't care for the game, there's not a lot going on outside of it.
The solution is simple. A weekly series to be published on Sundays. I'll write the first one (hopefully I can get it out on sunday), and from then on out, people can volunteer. Just leave a message on my board the week before with the idea you have for the article.
There are a few rules about the articles, though:
- Make them relevant, but not breaking news. I.E., it shouldn't be something that we've all heard on ESPN 50 million times.
- It should be unique. This means you have to think, and dig for, and possibly research for it. Davis's 100 Greatest QB's article would be a good idea for this series because it's something that while we all discuss (who's the best ever?), his approach is new.
- If you want to see what it should be like, it's based off of MVN's Last page here's the link
