Nets Trading Kidd???

Posted by Behbigben15

Jason Kidd's agent has reportedly "requested" a trade for next months trade deadline. Do you guys think this will happen? If so, where to??

  • Note that he "requested" a trade, NOT demanded, like every other athlete out there, I think that says something about Kidd's character, don't ya think?

Webber is SO overrated, he might be worth money if he was still in his Sacramento days.

Well, he's not a bad guy to have if your team has struggles in the paint. He showed last year that he can still put the ball in the basket and he can play defense. But he's nobody to depend on come playoff time

I think the Lakers would be interested in Kidd again.. just like they were the last time these rumors happened. Not sure what they'd give up though, since Bynum is injured.

What planet are you on? Why in the world would the Lakers want Kidd now? They have Fisher playing the best basketball he's played since 03, Farmar has developed into a blue chipper and Javaris Crittenton is showing lots of promise.

Giving up Bynum would be just short of giving up Yao or Howard, you don't give up a big man playing as well as him, especially for a PG, never a PG for a 4/5 - it's basketball law.

I'll just assume you don't watch any Lakers games at all.

You are correct. My fault, I just figured -- why not? What harm could it be to have Kidd on any team?

That's the problem though, you figured without considering his contract, what other teams would have to give up, and the NBA salery cap which is a nightmare in itself.

Having Kidd on the Lakers would mean....Less Points for Kobe, and he may not like that.

Kidd's contract makes him unaffordable to most every team in the league anyway. Why do you think he hasn't been traded yet? (Same with Vince Carter). It's not that they don't want to, they can't.

The Nets would like to trade Kidd but all they are being offered in return is expiring contracts which is not enough. I think the Nets would like to make a deal to shake up their roster and Kidd makes sense especially because Marcus Williams can handle the position. Trading Carter is also a possibility. In fact, I think Jefferson is the guy who the Nets most want to keep and is also the easiest to trade.

Jason Kidd is in a tough spot. His desire to go is warranted but it's not likely that any team will want a PG his age with the salary he requires. The Lakers have Farmer and Fisher at the point, so that's out. Like Kelsdad said, it's the same thing with Vince Carter {although they shouldn't have resigned him!!!} This is the same thing I have to tell people over and over again with regards to Stephon Marbury.

Kidd is saying maybe Dallas or Denver, now. Would AI want him on his team??? Kidd wouldn't mind sharing the ball, but I don't know about Iverson.

DENVER? DENVER!? Huh? No, not Denver. How could you let one of the two best point guards in the NBA sit on the bench for 24+ minutes? NO! Iverson is the man, and he's leading the team to another playoff spot, along with Melo. And you could probably say that Melo and Iverson have one of the strongest bonds in the game right now. Melo once said that "it was meant to be for AI to come to Denver." But Kidd? That's one All-Star too many right there.

What Denver needs is defense and they will not {and I Repeat} NOT be taken seriously as a contender until they learn how to play team defense. What amazes me is that Marcus Camby gives his heart and soul on the defensive end every night and yet his play on defense dosen't seem to resonate with the rest of the team. With Carmelo and AI, this team SHOULD definitely be a contender, but they're not. Jason Kidd certainly won't help in terms of defense. Denver needs a PG with defensive skills.
