NFL Network question:

Posted by The Pip

I thought that NFL games broadcast on Cable would be picked up by a local (over-air) station for broadcast so that those without cable would be able to see the game. Does this apply only to MNF? I thought it would apply to the NFL network as well, but Jerry Jones' rant seems to indicate otherwise. If there is no local over-air broadcast for the NFL network games then I will be settled as to who the bad guy in this debate is: The NFL.

Ok I re-read the article and between Jones' propaganda and ESPN inserting an "informative" sentence they made it seem like people in Dallas would not be able to see the game w/o having the NFL Network. This whole thing is idiotic and all sides are missing out on bigger slices of a bigger pie.

Technically, I don't think that most of Dallas is legally in the Cowboys market. In order to be in the market your residence has to be within x mile of the stadium. Jones is probably upset that the game is on the NFL Network yet most of Dallas still can't see the game

Green Bay is having a problem with the cable providers. Comcast and Time Warner do not include NFL Network in their basic programming so the NFL Network will not deal with them. Unless you have Directv or Dish, no game on Thursday night for Green Bay.
