Moss Making the Trip to Philly?

Posted by JuTMSY4

The rumors via gcobb.com (a ustream broadcast) and Chris Mortensen (also on the radio) are that Randy Moss is interested in Philly. He apparently wants to speak to Donovan McNabb and may or may not be visiting Philly tomorrow.

http://www.igglephans.com

Also, Thanks to the Asante Samuel signing, Lito Sheppard is now (rumored to be) unhappy and could be part of a trade for Larry Fitzgerald.

But the big news is Moss. I still don't see it...but its nice to dream.

That's crazy!! Moss to Philly??? After this year, I don't see why he would want to leave New England. And, I actually think it would be a good idea getting Fitzgerald for Lito. Lito wants no part in this, I actually don't really blame him for wanting out. I'm sure he thinks he's being replaced by Samuel. Lito for Fitz would be a good trade for both sides, I think.

Lito+ for fitz...i believe it'll be the eagles #1, the cards will have to part with a #2 or 3 and fitz restructuring will be a contingency of the deal (he's due a lot of money over the next two years because he reached incentives)

The other part is, they signed samuel, so who's the best corner available now? (besides Trufant and Asomugha...but they won't be taken)...florence? The eagles have set themselves up to trade Lito for a high high price...honestly (and i admit, i'm a kool-aid drinker at times), pretty damn smart

(Sniffles) I thought the '07-'08 Patriots were one big happy family. Watch the "Moss is a traitor" crap if he switches teams.

Moss already took a pay cut in order to play for New England last season. And now he wants to be paid.

I guess I'll be the first to say it - Larry Fitzgerald is better all around WR than Randy Moss... Seriously.

Having watched Fitz for the past 3 years - he is a consummate pro athlete and WORKS at his craft, hard.... HARD!

Great character, amazing skill set - ONCE in a generation hands... ANY team would be better for having him. And he deserves an opportunity to showcase his ability.

But to get Fitz and Moss? W - O - W - ! - ! - !

I might even consider the idea of becoming an Eagles fan!!

This better be true - THESE are the kinds of rumors I hate... the kind that make me go "Woe! Really?"... I hate when rumors I want to happen are B.S.

Ok two things...I agree with ManRay on Fitzgerald being better all around than Moss; though that becoming an Eagles fan talk is crazy. Am I the only one who thinks Moss is becoming the NFL version of David Cone?

i agree manny....that trade' has been in the works... And given Sheppard's status, its possible. but, as the cost of a 1st, Lito and money, if you can get moss its kinda a no brainer

I grew up in Philly 'burbs and never rooted against them (except for the Super Bowl when Jaworski was QB). I could become a fan of them, I've always enjoyed Eagles fans, that's for sure...

As for the Fitz rumor - FIRST time I've heard it was in this thread. Seriously.

I have always liked Randy Moss since he got busted for the herbage and dropped in the draft. For teams to back off because of that is stupid (Warren Sapp) because let's face it, football players don't get dumber when they're stoned... they're still football players. I have no sympathy for the guys that don't drop as much yet have violence against women on their resume (Lawrence Phillips, Christian Peter, etc).

The world is messed up in the way it views character based on behavior.

yeah, instead of drafting sapp, some smart team should have drafted mike mamula... wait...

Ha ha.... yeah.

The Mamula Moment in time.

To be fair, pull up those combine results and tell you aren't impressed. He wasn't THAT bad of a player he was just too small and got manhandled by the NFL O-lineman.

You know one thing - Hind sight in the NFL is NOT 20/20 - especially in Philly.

An Eagles fan will tell you Ricky Waters sucked - for who for what - dude put up very healthy numbers as a greenbird. Same for Herschel Walker.

Public perception is often skewed when it comes to football players and their careers -see Brian Bosworth: he was a lot better than you want to remember.

"For who, For what?"

It's ok to think it and live it. Act it out, make it look good... It is NOT ok to say it in Philly... Uh - Uh, no no.

I remember it VIVIDLY. It was his first game! I was a Bucs fan then because they still had the Orange creamsicle unis.

Philly Fans were already on his ass before he played a single down because of his 1-900-Ricky32 hotline.

Too bad the internet came along later...

i disagree...i don't think you ever want a player thinking "For who, for what"

Does everyone who plays a game think that? Noooooo way...

in fact, most of us play (anything), we know for who, for what...

I mean, when you're at work..."For who, for what?" - even you Manny ; - )

OK. When you're at work and the day is nearly over and you didn't have a good day and things go bad - do you try so extra hard that you injure yourself RIGHT before you leave (and thus take yourself out of work for a couple days) or do you get up and get back at it tomorrow? (next game)

It was the first game of the season, the game was well ov-er and he was gonna make a catch for a loss and get hurt? It wasn't a bad decision, he just shouldn't have said it.

If he made that catch NO ONE would have noticed...

He had 1273 yard rushing that year and 434 recieving and played all 16 games. He makes that catch and he's out for a couple weeks. The score was 21-6. He wasn't going to score a 15 point TD (remember - there was no 2pt conversions then either)

Curious about your take on how Philly would accept Moss.

On one hand, I can see them lovefesting him like he's the second coming of T.O.

On the other, I can see him taking plays off and burning effigies like the second leaving of T.O.

Fitz on the other hand would be LO-VED in the Illadelph. BLUE collar, goes across the middle, plays hurt, shuts up and won't pop off t the media, great character, BUSTS his ass EVERY game... will bleed and break bones to win.

well manny:

I agree, Fitz is better...there's no doubt in my mind...but there's more invovled. Fitz is gonna cost more (both now and later) and be acquired via trade...Moss is an FA...

Moss will be loved like TO...plus, theoretically, moss won't bitch about his contract...but you never know. However, he's gonna cost a lot less and is much easier to acquire.

The other thing is, the eagles w/ McNabb are an all or nothing prop. If Mcnabb falters, that's it, this team is gonna rebuild...so either acquisition is a "Go big or go home" shot...

Like I said the Fitz talk was new to me here in PHX. It's always been my understanding that Fitz was gonna be a Card for life?? But I know how dumb the Cards owners are, so nothing would surprise me... I would see the Cards dealing Q Boldin before Fitz (and THAT would be dumb too)

I am amazed that Philly even went out and got Samuel... multiple positive moves from a Philly franchise hasn't happened in years...
