Maybe They Don't Need Beckham
Go figure, Beckham has appeared in 5-6 games, scored twice, including last night on a free kick against Sydney FC of Australia's A-League for the LA Galaxy. Imagine that, a 34 year old still bending it in. Now.....back to the winning part.
They lost the friendly 5-3, drew the Vancouver Whitecaps 0-0, lost the last game of the regular season, drew the game before that. Here are the games he has played in, and here are the results:
LA Galaxy vs. Chelsea, 1-0 loss (sub)
LA Galaxy vs. DC United, 2-0 win (one goal on a free kick, Superliga match, started)
LA Galaxy vs. DC United, 1-0 loss (sub)
LA Galaxy vs. Chivas USA, 3-0 loss (started)
LA Galaxy vs. Red Bull New York, 1-1 draw (sub)
LA Galaxy vs. Pachuca, 1-1 draw, lost on penalties. (start)
LA Galaxy vs. Chicago Fire, 1-0 loss (started)
LA Galaxy vs. Vancouver Whitecaps, 0-0 draw (started)
LA Galaxy vs. Sydney FC, 5-3 loss (scored on free kick, started)
Going 1-5-2 when Beckham plays sounds awful. Maybe he'll be better next year, after all, he has plenty of free time since England are out of Euro 2008.
