MLB Division Races

Posted by Behbigben15

There's only 10-12 games to go in the MLB season, and a majority of the divisions are really close.

Of course we all know, by now, about the new AL East rivalry with Tampa Bay, and the Red Sox (who are now tied for the division lead). But what about the AL Central (Sox leading Twins by 1.5 games), NL East (Philly down by .5 game to the Mets), and even the NL West, which is separated by 4.5 games?

[edit] My predictions:

AL East

Boston- Sorry Manny, but the Sawx are on a streak, and Tampa has lost 7 of their last 10 games.

AL Central

Chicago- Both the 'Sox, and Twins are on cold streaks, but the advantage goes to Chicago since they currently have the 1.5 game lead.

AL West

Los Angeles- Well, obviously the Angels. They do sort, kinda already have the division crown in their hands.

AL Wild Card

Tampa Bay- They have a talented team, and will easily beat out Minnesota for the fourth, and final spot.

NL East

New York- No way the Mets will blow this one two years straight. That just won't happen.

NL Central

Chicago- The Cubbies have the 8 game lead over the Ned Yost...Wait, hold on, the Brewers third base coach is the leader now. Well that settles it, Chicago easily cruises to Division crown.

NL West

Los Angeles- Yes, I know, this means there is two cities with two teams in the playoffs this year. The good news? They Yankees won't be playing in October!!

NL Wild Card

Philadelphia- Well this one's obvious. Of course the Wild Card team will come from the East...Don't they all!

Who you got in the playoffs?

It doesn't matter what teams have done in their last 10 games, it's what they do in their next 12...

Rays beat Twins 3-1, Angels sweep Red Sox

Rays beat Angels 4-2

Mets beat Brewers (Yes, I said it) 3-2, Dodgers sweep Cubs

Mets beat Dodgers 4-1

Rays sweep Mets. The End. My job is done here.

Maybe the Rays will sell out a playoff game. Biggest night of the season for them last night and they had 6,000+ empty seats. And that's with lots of Sox fans there.

Now it looks like the Red Sox in the AL East. Rays are 4-9 in September and need to turn it around to win the division. Twins in the AL Central (how do contend like this without money and losing one of the best pitchers in the game?). Angles in the West. Rays in the Wild Card.

Phillies NL East, Cubs in the Central, Dodgers in the West, Mets as the Wild Card.

In two days what will it look like? In a week? To say "it looks like the Red Sox" when they are tied for first with 13 games left? Boston Myopia STRIKES AGAIN!!!

Playing like shit enough to beat the Red Sox twice in Fenway last week?

No team wins every game all season long.

The only thing that is "like shit" is the words you keep vomiting out of your keyboard... the season ain't over yet.

And all teams start 0-0 in the playoffs.

...playing like shit enough to get their 19th win in the last inning of a game this season!

Red Sox lose in St. Pete... again!

You're right, 5-9 in September during a playoff race is actually pretty good.

I told you Masterson sucks. The Rays will hang on because of the Sox bullpen. Francona must cringe everytime he has to make a pitching change.

The bullpen is horrid. Then again, how often do you win when you score 1 run?

A "cheap" run at that (IF single, error, fielder's choice, sac-fly).

Rays GB --

Red Sox GB = 1 (2 back in the loss column)

That's all that matters in a division race, isn't it?

You don't win a playoff spot in September - it takes a whole season...

Tampa will win the division with Boston getting the wild card

Chicago will have two teams represented in the playoffs as will Los Angeles

The question comes down to Philadelphia, New York, and Milwaukee. The Brewers are the odd team out
