Live Blog, Open Thread: Mets @ Diamondbacks, Dan Haren v. Johan

Pick up the game in the top of the third. As expected, a fast moving game. Haren has retired the first six Mets hitters, although not without some anxiety, as Ryan Church, David Wright and Carlos Delgado all flied deep to the OF.

The Dbacks have had two baserunners against Santana, a hustle double in the first by Augie Ojeda, and Mark Reynolds reached in the second inning on an error.

Brian Schneider leads off the Mets in the top of the third...

I hope Doug Davis gets better soon. I always hate to hear about how a certain athlete has cancer. Since he's throwing a 60-65 pitches tomorrow, it seems like he's trying to get his strength back. Good signs point to Davis. My prayers and thoughts are still with him.

He's still pitching pretty strong though: 6 strikeouts in 4 1/3. However, look at Byrnes' at-bat. 6 pitches, and a 2-2 count. Byrnes keeps battling with Johan, which is good. The more pitches Johan throws, the better the DBax will be later on in the game when he gets taken out.
