Ya to Morgan's credit he isn't McCarver: McCarver: Now when a college, or in my case Clown School offers you an honorary doctorate it's a high honor because a school has chosen to make you a doctor, even though you aren't one. So it's important to treat the ceremony as a very serious event because you are getting a title that you didn't go to school for. Remember that this doesn't give you a license to practice medicine.

I agree, LA! Joe Morgan has done more for baseball AFTER his career ended. The fact that he went back and got his degree is not only commendable, I think that other pro athletes should follow his lead.
